Modi Leadership – BJP Won Delhi MCD Elections 2017

The BJP will rule Delhi’s civic bodies under Modi Leadership for the next five years after the party retain by huge margins. Seems All the three civic bodies in the crucial Delhi MCD elections 2017. The results come three days after voting took place in 270 wards across the three civic bodies.

This is North Delhi Municipal Corporation, South Delhi Municipal Corporation and the East Delhi Municipal Corporation. While Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party is head for defeat. Ajay Maken of the Congress party announce that he is stepping down as the party’s chief in Delhi.

Though the overall turnout was recorded at 54 per cent. Which is almost the same as the 2012 elections. Other parties which contested the election also include Swaraj India, the political arm of Swaraj Abhiyan – co-founded by activists Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan.

BJP -182 Seat Won.
AAP – 46 Seat Won.
Cong – 30 Seat Won.
Other – 10 Seat Won.

Seems Early trends in the pitched battle for Delhi civic bodies start trickling in as counting began at 8am. Therefore The BJP is leading in all the three corporations with Congress. And AAP fighting for the second position. Exit polls that follow the voting on Sunday. That had predicted a huge win for BJP in the civic polls.

The municipal body poll, which came two months after elections in five states. Seems this expect to set the political tone beyond the Capital’s boundaries. While the BJP is attempting to fight off 10-year-old anti-incumbency in Delhi’s civic bodies. Therefore the Congress is battling exodus of top state leaders. The AAP, which is in power in the state and had bagged 5 out of 13 wards in bypolls in 2016, hopes that the civic polls will help it to recover from the jolt in assembly elections.

Though the BJP, which is aspiring for a hat-trick under Modi Leadership in the civic body polls.  And a win, will help the party keep up the momentum of its large victories in recent assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
The AAP party seems to highlight the work done by its government in Delhi in several areas. Including health, education, water and electricity distribution. The party has promised to abolish house tax.
