Currently there are 3 International Airport in Kerala which are operational.4th International Airport in Kerala will start its operations in the year 2018. Then Kerala will become only state having 4 international airports. As of now only Tamil Nadu have 4 international Airports.
In the year 2016, Kerala government give official approval for 5th International Airport But Location is not yet confirm. If location is approved, then Kerala will number One in the India to have 5 International Airports.

#Kannur International Airport located in Kannur (Under Construction).
As per the records, Rs 2,500 crore is required for the Kannur International Airport. Mr. Rajeev Joseph, who is the president of the New Delhi headquarter Global Indian Association (GIA) already met with the Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to discuss this. This airport will spread in 2,000 acres of land.
#Trivandrum International Airport:
This is the first International Airport in Kerala. Currently this airport serve the people of Kollam, Nagercoil, Trivandrum and Kanyakumari. Trivandrum International Airport is also responsible for repair, body Maintenance, overhaul unit of Air India airlines. This airport is 3.7 kilo meter long.
There are 2 terminals in the airport, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
All domestic flights lands in Terminal -1 (Except Air India). Whereas Terminal-2 operates all international flights and domestic flights by Air India.
Though this terminal is build by Airport Authority of India and plot by the UK firm Pascall-Watson architects. Also there may be further expansion of the airport in 82 acres. It may have another new domestic terminal. The air traffic control system tower is 18 meter tall.

#Calicut International Airport
This airport is located in Karipur which is in Malappuram district in Kerala. And receive the status of International Airport on 2nd February 2016. This airport comes in the busiest airport in India. Though 12th busiest airport for passengers handling and 11th busiest airport in terms for cargo handling.
However Calicut International Airport serves the people of Kozhikode and Malappuram. Also there is certain accidents happen on this airport. Recent one happen on 4th August 2017, when SpiceJet plan slide while landing. Captain land the plan safely.
#Cochin International Airport:
This is 4th Busiest airport in the Kerala in terms of International passengers handling. However Cochin International Airport is the first airport in India which construct and develop under public-private partnership (PPP) model.
There are 3 terminals in the airport, Two for domestic use and 1 for International. Before Terminal-1 was the international Terminal but now its shift to Terminal-3.
Name of the Terminals are Terminal-1, Terminal-2, Terminal-3.
Special terminal for cargo is also located in the airport in 50 acres of land. Students can do higher education in aviation management and technical areas.
Buses from the airport to the other cities are operated by Kerala State Road Transport Corporation.
#Kannur International Airport
This airport have CNN IATA code and under construction as of now. Also Kannur International Airport will have common terminal for International and domestic airlines.
Also the people of Kannur district will be serve by this airport. Kannur international airport is the second greenfield airport to be built on a public private partnership (PPP) platform in Kerala.
However Kerala will be the first state in India, when there will be 5th International Airport in Kerala.
