Spread the love

Miss World Manushi Chhillar answer in such a way that make her miss world. The stunner from Haryana, which once ranked the worst among all states in sex ratio in India. She also won the “Beauty with Purpose” award. But her views on motherhood made her win sweeter and grander.

In the question and answer session, after reserving her place in the top five. When Manushi was asked which profession according to her deserved the highest salary and why?. Her touching answer started with the letter ‘M’. M for mother

“I think a mother deserves the highest respect and when you talk about salary it’s not always about cash. But I feel it’s the love and respect that you give to someone. My mother has always been the biggest inspiration in my life. All mothers sacrifice so much for their kids. So, I think it is the job of a mother that deserves the highest salary,” Manushi replied amid cheers.

A homemaker performs a multitude of duties and roles in the space of 24 hours. And while many will argue that she does it from a sense of familial duty and love. Miss World Manushi Chhillar hit the point home that it’s largely a thankless job. Some of the services a homemaker renders may be consensual. In which case assigning an economic value will be pointless. For example, pregnancy & childbirth.

Vidya Balan is profoundly impressed with Miss World Manushi Chhillar winning reply:

In an interview with Bombay Times, Vidya said that Manushi’s answer resonates the plot of Tumhaari Sulu.

Vidya told Bombay Times, “Manushi’s answer underlines what we were trying to say in my recent film. People acknowledge that a mother and homemaker’s contribution is always undervalued. And it has diminish further after women started stepping out to earn,”
In Tumhaari Sulu, Vidya Balan plays a Mumbai-based housewife. Who becomes immensely popular for her late night radio program. How Sulu’s new job starts affecting her interpersonal relationships is what forms the crux of the Suresh Triveni-directed film.

Vidya added, “People only value what they pay for. If they started paying a mother a salary, the family would go bankrupt. Mansuhi’s answer was bang on. It’s not the cash; it’s the respect and love you must show towards the mother for what she does silently, every single day. Universally, the energies are coming together. Maybe, mothers and homemakers will get their dues now”.
