What is asthma?
#It is a disease that hurts the airways inside the lungs.
#Causes the tissue inside the airways to swell.
#Asthma also causes the bands of muscle around the airways to become narrow.
#This makes it hard for enough air to pass through and for the person to breathe normally
#A person having an asthma attack often makes wheezing sounds when trying to breathe.
#There are a lot of risk factors for getting asthma. The exact reasons for each is not yet clearly understood.

A research shows that 97 footballers in England from two Premier League clubs, one Championship club. And a League One club had their lung health tested during pre-season.

Study shows symptoms that present at a meeting of the British Thoracic Society.

University of Kent scientists use lung tests to check football players with symptoms and improved their fitness after treatment.

Famous athletes are seems affected with asthma-related problems. Because of their high intensity breathing.
Experts inform that health checking will prevent later problems.

Coughing:-

The researchers also found that their aerobic fitness and performance on the pitch improved.
Twenty seven players found positive for breathing problems. This is also known as asthma.

Healt expert Dr John Dickinson, from the school of sport and exercise science at the University of Kent inform although top football clubs were good at screening players for heart problems. They were not carrying out tests which could identify respiratory problems – which were much more common.

He said,”Clubs can’t depends on players for reporting symptoms. Because they are not always that obvious and sometimes they are consider off as poor fitness”.
Many of those had no previous history of asthma or any other health problem.
When they were treated with perfect medication. Their symptoms were such as
#tightness of the chest
#Wheezing
#Coughing after playing
#Reduced breathing stamina
#Lung function.
The researchers used medical tests to hellp the footballers for
#Breathing
#Airway function
#How efficiently Empty their lungs while breath
They were then able to detect asthma-related symptoms accurately and tailor treatment for those affected.
Dr Dickinson said, Improving the health of footballers airways also has other benefits.
“They are less likely to pick up coughs and colds”.

Experts believe it may be connected to athletes exercising regularly at high intensity.
When the air is cold and dry and if there is exposure to air pollution. Or other elements like pollen. This could worsen symptoms but more research is needed to confirm this.
